The Anthropocene Reviewed: Essays on a Human-Centered Planet by John Green
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Surprisingly emotional!
I read this book while I was recovering from surgery, and it gave me the exact kind of easy, casual experience I was looking for at the time. I liked how varied the chapters were, with lots of different topics covered, all of which were explored with interesting backgrounds and an engaging anecdote from John Green's own life.
For a book about the Anthropocene era, topics were mostly limited to stuff that has happened in the last century or so, so don't expect too much information about ancient human history. More than anything this was a memoir, though, so that's kind of on me for expecting an anthropology book instead.
Overall I enjoyed this one a lot, and I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants something easy to pick up and read in short bursts.
